An Analysis of Survey Results

The survey of professional associations that is reported here provides the foundation for the Council’s work in this area. There has been considerable research into professionals in recent years, yet the review conducted for this report found no research that provided a mapping of the management and leadership development provided to UK professionals. Therefore, a database of 386 UK professional associations was established and a questionnaire was sent in April 2000. This was followed up by a letter in May and a further reminder by telephone in June. One hundred and forty nine usable questionnaires were received representing a healthy 39% response rate.
